Becoming a Plant Medicine Advocate
I attended my first ayahuasca retreat in 2019, about 1,200 miles from my home. I was driven there by unbearable depression, anxiety, and physical pain that mainstream doctors couldn’t help me with or told me I was too young to have.
My dieta preparation was uninformed – more about starvation than a meaningful or intentional dieta practice. I didnt understand what cleansing for ceremony truly entailed or how to cook food that was good for my body, mind and soul all at the same time.
I originally went to school in the Health Information Technology field. Struggling with doctors and the limitations of the healthcare system only deepened my disillusionment of the meaning behind American “healthcare”.
My plant medicine journey has ultimately led me to Ayurveda (the science of Life), a holistic approach to health and wellness that has become my true passion. Despite what you may have heard, we DO have the power to heal our own body, mind, and spirit. My mission is to help others reclaim that seemingly-elusive empowerment.
I am currently studying Ayurvedic Health and Āhāra eva auṣadham (Food as Medicine) under Vasant Lad at the Ayurvedic Institute. I’m channeling this passion into curating nourishing meals for Aya ceremony attendees, guided by my belief in helping those that help themselves.
These culinary creations are more than just sustenance. They are a part of the healing experience, thoughtfully planned and prepared to support the mind, body, and spirit.
